Another sea day...

Today has been another relaxing day at sea. Tomorrow we will wake in Sao Paulo, Brazil. We're getting to know more people on the ship so when our eating schedules are off, we enjoy visiting with shipmates over breakfast or lunch. Thankfully I was able to participate in my zoom Bible study this morning and it was nice seeing faces I've not been able to see in several weeks.

Tonight's dinner theme was "Red Ginger."  The chefs were cooking chicken/beef/shrimp stir fry on the front deck. Inside there was duck (which neither of us ate), vegetable tempura, vegetable fried rice and many other food choices. The weather was very pleasant and we enjoyed eating our dinner outside. I snapped a few food photos and Ronnie captured this beautiful photo of tonight's sunset during dinner.

One of the great benefits of being on an extended vacation is the people you get to know. A friend we’ve made on the ship (Leslie Davis) was one of many who visited the Recoleta Cemetery in Buenos Aires last week. She posted these beautiful photos on FaceBook and I am sharing them here with her permission. The most famous person buried there is Eva Duarte de Perón (better known as “Evita”). She was the second wife of Argentine President Juan Perón and first lady of Argentina from 1946 until her death at age 33 in 1952. She was well loved by the people of Argentina, especially because of all she did to improve the lives of the poor. Leslie and others from the ship also visited Eva's museum as part of t heir excursion but were not allowed to take photos there.

The photos below are of some of the crypts at Recoleta Cemetery.

These last 2 were at the Eva Peron Museum (probably before she realized no photos were allowed). Thanks, Leslie for letting me share your beautiful photos!

  1. Bharberts: beautiful photos. Argentina has lots of European beauty. I hope you enjoy Sao Paolo and get to see how huge it is. I spent many weeks there in 1996. I ate the most fabulous food and you must try a sip of the local drink called Caipereina. Your narratives daily are wonderful.
