The last part of our day in Senegal consisted of a stop in Noflaye village to watch some local dancers put on a show for us. Below are some photos I took there. Besides the dancers, the performers were drums and a man vocalizing into a microphone. The locals seemed to be enjoying it every bit as much as their guests, some of them videotaping and taking photos, as we were. Toward the end of their performance, they dance with baskets or hands extended or money in their mouth as their way of asking for tips.

Wow, what colorful costumes they display in dancing.
ReplyDeleteYes! And from all the photos, you will notice that the women are always dressed in colorful prints and patterns.
DeleteFinally catching up with you!!! You have been on my heart! The days are rushing by- even now at 7:54 pm Roy has gone to Lowe’s to get some plumbing parts because water was coming out under our kitchen sink. We have to be at Methodist in Houston at 9:45 for an ophthalmologist sppt. And so it goes.
ReplyDeleteYour blog and photos are a real getaway- so thankful you both are well and we are continuing to keep you and Ronnie in prayer. We surely see how blessed we are when we see even children begging… Lord, please help us all to have grateful hearts!
I could not get the video of the dancer to play- maybe when our internet is not so busy.
Karen, it's so good to hear from you! So sorry about the leaky sink issue! Ugh! Hope all went well in Houston. Thanks for keeping up with us!
