Zapped in Zihuatanejo

Two hours off the ship today and we were completely done. It's a hot sunny day in Zihuatanejo, Mexico. Even with 12 hours in port, neither of us was in any hurry to get off the ship today. Some ports are too small for cruise ships to dock, so passengers must be tendered in to shore with smaller boats. These boats run every 30 minutes so there was no waiting either going or coming back to the ship.

can't blame them for shortening it!

"Zihua" is the third most visited area in Mexico after Cancun and Puerto Vallarta and it's another city that is very popular with sports fishermen. As you would expect, there are lots of shops selling the usual jewelry, t-shirts and souvenirs, along with eateries and food stalls. Also there are women carrying jewelry and trinkets on foot who offer their wares to tourists but they were not super pushy, which was nice. We also noticed a large "policia" presence. Ronnie approached them to ask about some sculptures and they used a handy translator to communicate with him.

Like yesterday, we wanted to have lunch on the ship so we wouldn't be tempted to eat anything on shore. It was already hot by the time we boarded the tender for the 5-10 minute ride. We basically just strolled around a bit to get some exercise and let me take a few pictures. It was too hot to be enjoyable so we were both ready to get back to our room in the cool AC.

I'll include a few more random pics here.
