More Color in the Cotswolds

Well, as I said in an earlier post, Fall is here now and we are close to our departure. This past week has seen a lot of overcast skies, rain, fog and just plain nastiness. But today turned off pretty so we checked out a couple of villages we've not seen yet. I am always amazed at how many discoveries are waiting to be made within 30 minutes of Stow-on-the-Wold. Largish villages, medium size and small - they are all interesting and charming. This afternoon we drove through the villages of Milton-Under-Winchwood, Shipton-Under-Winchwood and Churchill.

We spotted a public foot path near Milton so we decided to walk for a ways so I could photograph some colorful foliage. As is common here, one minute the sun is shining brightly, then it becomes overcast and it seems to go back and forth. Thankfully, it stayed sunny or overcast (no rain) while we were out walking. The foot path took us right through the Winchwood Golf Course. A few golfers were enjoying the beautiful afternoon and we tried to not distract them.

Back in the car, we stopped again so I could photograph some black faced sheep before driving on to Milton. Our first stop was to photograph the church but within minutes it was raining again, so I hustled back to the car. We drove on to Churchill and the rain stopped long enough for me to grab a few photos of the outside of the parish church, All Saints.

I was so in hopes of seeing another gorgeous rainbow while driving back, as I've seen three 180 degree ones this past week. However, no rainbow today.

So here are a few more Fall color photos, some you've probably seen if we're Face Book friends, but hopefully you will enjoy them again!
