One of the guys in our Bible study group invited us to a 90th birthday celebration in the owner's suite on Friday night. I didn't want to go empty handed, but what do you give a 90 year old woman who has everything? Chocolate, of course.
I'm posting a few photos I took (with permission) of the central area of the suite (dining/bar/butler's pantry) but I also took photos in the bath, master, living room and deck. Every room has its own ocean view.

I won't post the "birthday girl's" photo here without permission - but I'm still having a hard time believing she is 90. One would NEVER guess! She's a former model and still a beauty. Most impressive of all, she still wears high heels at age 90!
This morning we had our "church" service - a group of us who gather to watch a week-delay sermon from Eagle Brook Church in Minneapolis. Afterwards, we enjoyed visiting with some from the group at a Super Brunch in the Grand Dining Hall. I snapped a few quick photos.

I am spoiled rotten on this ship! If I don't get off soon, I won't remember how to cook, clean or do laundry! Anyway, these are some random photos from the weekend.
Barbara: What a beautiful sunrise. My heart always leaps to see the sunrise and sunset over the endless expanse of water. It is Genesis to me. That looks like a fancy birthday party...in a HUGE suite! I am really watching my weight, so I cannot do do a cruise-this food is glorious-and such a temptation to me. This is fit for Royalty!!! I could almost smell it in the photos. I think I gained a pound looking....
ReplyDeleteGlad you have a church community aboard.
Barbara, I took one look out our sliding glass doors yesterday morning and announced to Ronnie "the heavenly choir is singing!" When I see that kind of sunrise or sunset with the the light rays beaming down through the clouds, I always picture God on His throne and the heavenly choir singing Holy Holy Holy! Re: ship food - Oceania has a reputation for having the best cuisine on the sea. I don't doubt if that's accurate (hands down it beats other lines we've sailed on). So why oh why did they put scales in our bathroom? I would have rather waited until I got home to see the damage. I simply have to settle down when we get home. Too much temptation on this ship! I recently discovered that their "no sugar" ice cream is absolutely delicious and I seriously cannot tell the difference between it and their regular. No aftertaste or fake taste - it's just soo good. I did a little investigating and found out they make it with agave, but when I googled it, agave has as many calories as table sugar per tablespoon. =( Sigh...but it was good while it lasted!
